About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for cabinet systems and related materials used in control cabinet manufacturing
- Take end-to-end global responsibility for assigned commodities across regions and production sites
- Lead global homologation, including supplier qualification, technical approval, and release, with engineering, quality, and operations
- Identify, evaluate, and develop competitive suppliers in China and the Asia-Pacific region
- Drive supplier localization in China and integrate local sourcing opportunities into the global supplier base
- Assess and onboard Chinese suppliers into the global supplier network while ensuring compliance with standards, certifications, customer specifications, and export requirements
- Build, manage, and continuously develop global and regional supplier bases for cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and sustainability
- Serve as the interface between global stakeholders and Chinese suppliers
- Lead global tenders and sourcing processes, including RFQs, supplier comparison matrices, and award recommendations
- Negotiate and conclude commercial agreements, including global framework agreements and development contracts
- Drive cost reduction and value optimization initiatives
- Conduct global and regional market analysis and supplier risk assessments
- Monitor and mitigate geopolitical, regulatory, and export-related supply chain risks
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, logistics, finance, and service stakeholders across regions
- Support compliance requirements, supplier audits, and adherence to the company Code of Conduct
- Represent Global Sourcing in international and cross-functional projects
- Travel internationally for supplier development, homologation, and negotiations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, equivalent professional experience
- Several years of experience in Global Sourcing / Strategic Procurement with responsibility for international commodities; the Chinese text specifies at least five years
- Proven experience working with global supplier networks and integrating regional supply markets into global strategies
- Solid experience with Chinese suppliers and understanding of local sourcing environments, business culture, and supply chain structures
- Experience in supplier localization, supplier development, and homologation processes is highly desirable
- Good understanding of international standards, certifications, and export requirements, such as IEC and UL
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing global supplier agreements
- Background in cabinet systems or electrical control cabinets is an advantage
- Technical background or strong affinity in electrical engineering, power systems, or automation; exposure to control cabinets or industrial electrical systems is a big advantage
- Excellent analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a global and cross-cultural environment
- Business-fluent English is mandatory
- High flexibility and willingness to travel internationally
- Highly motivated and results-driven professional with a strong sense of ownership
