About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes
- Drive introduction of new products, production lines, material changes, and manufacturing technologies
- Execute continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Industry Best Practices
- Develop and standardize work methods, process instructions, and manufacturing standards
- Lead CAPEX projects involving machinery, tools, molds, automation systems, and infrastructure enhancements
- Manage project timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and implementation
- Ensure industrialization of new products and manufacturing processes
- Lead preventive, predictive, corrective, and facility maintenance activities
- Ensure equipment uptime and reliability through maintenance planning and execution
- Monitor maintenance KPIs and improve asset performance
- Lead and develop Process Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, and Technicians
- Build organizational capability through coaching, mentoring, and competency development
- Lead qualification and homologation of new suppliers and materials
- Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, and R&D teams on technical changes
- Drive material optimization and alternative sourcing initiatives
- Implement manufacturing cost, material consumption, quality cost, and productivity improvements
- Own and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing standards
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety requirements
- Support audits and regulatory compliance activities
- Lead technical and production training programs
- Develop training matrices and competency improvement plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
- 15-18+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, process engineering, industrialization, and maintenance
- Minimum 7 years in a leadership role managing engineering and maintenance teams
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments such as Wind Energy, Automotive, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Equipment, or related industries
- Proven experience in CAPEX implementation, process optimization, and team management
- Master’s Degree (MBA / M.Tech) preferred
