About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead end-to-end execution of large, complex, strategically important wind projects in the United States and Canada
  • Lead project execution governance from Sales-to-PM handover through installation, commissioning, customer handover, and PM-to-Service handover
  • Own integrated project performance across HSE, quality, schedule, cost, margin, cash collection, contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and risk mitigation
  • Serve as primary customer interface with customer executives, construction leadership, owners’ engineers, contractors, and Nordex leadership
  • Establish and maintain project controls, schedules, critical-path tracking, risk registers, forecasts, change control, claims strategy, cash collection plans, and documentation governance
  • Lead project forecast reviews covering commercial changes, risks, opportunities, liquidated damages, contingencies, cash collection, tax/VAT, and cost assignment
  • Partner with Commercial Project Management, Legal/Contracts, Sourcing, and Finance on contractual obligations, change orders, claims, extensions, invoicing, payments, subcontractor positions, and dispute resolution
  • Coordinate execution readiness, including team structure, resources, site and construction readiness, logistics, materials, contractors, cranes, installation planning, quality plans, and systems setup
  • Coordinate technical solutions with Engineering and global functions; escalate design, grid, commissioning, SCADA, quality, and technical issues
  • Manage operational plans, delay reporting, recovery planning, and threats to project milestones
  • Ensure compliance with Nordex QHSE policies, statutory requirements, quality plans, ServiceNow/NCR processes, customer requirements, and regulatory or contractual obligations
  • Stop or prohibit work when immediate HSE risks or improper component handling are identified; ensure hazard, incident, and corrective-action closure
  • Lead escalation of project deviations using structured problem-solving and impact analysis
  • Coordinate project documentation and digital project environments, including Teams, PM tools, schedules, Upvise/database inputs, contract summaries, lessons learned, handover documents, punch lists, and commissioning records
  • Support negotiation strategy with contractors, subcontractors, engineering, construction, transportation, cranes, and logistics providers
  • Mentor Project Managers, Site Managers, PQM, PMOps, LPM, TPMs, and project team members
  • Travel to project sites, customer offices, contractor locations, and Nordex offices as required
  • Provide temporary Project Manager coverage for critical projects or absences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related discipline required; equivalent extensive industry experience may be considered
  • 10+ years of relevant experience managing complex energy, infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale construction projects
  • Preference for candidates having 15-20 years and substantial utility-scale wind execution experience in the United States and/or Canada
  • Minimum 8+ years in wind project management, wind construction, project operations, installation, logistics, commissioning, or comparable renewable-energy project execution leadership
  • Proven track record managing multiple large-scale projects or a portfolio of major project workstreams, including customer governance, contractor management, contract administration, financial forecasting, claims/change management, and execution recovery
  • Prior experience interacting successfully with customer executives, developers, owners’ engineers, construction management teams, senior internal leadership, and global functional stakeholders
  • Experience in mentoring or leading project managers and cross-functional project teams is strongly preferred
  • Must be able to work in Canada with no Company sponsorship and have the ability to travel to the US for training
  • Ability to successfully complete all Canadian regulatory laws surrounding pre-employment screening requirements
  • Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under the auto insurance policy
  • Must demonstrate understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Must speak and understand English fluently
  • Must properly use applicable safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
