About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide daily HSE representation during specific O&M-phase project activities at service sites with Major Correctives
- Support HSE Management Systems and daily HSE activities in global alignment
- Support cross-functional teams in planning, facilitating, and completing HSE projects
- Review analytical data of HSE-related incidents with functional leaders
- Interface with clients and customers as needed
- Support HSE Director and Officers in monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Interpret and implement Global HSE requirements
- Implement HSE policies and procedures at site level with HSE teams
- Create records and reports with results, conclusions, and recommendations
- Provide functional guidance using Root Cause Analysis (RCA/8D) and proactive analytical problem-solving methods
- Liaise with Supply, Engineering, Purchasing, and Regional HSE teams regarding daily issues
- Cooperate with the site manager and report directly to the HSE Regional Officer
- Update documentation and liaise with local, regional, and global teams
- Comply with applicable regional and local HSE regulations and customer-specific guidelines
- Promote and maintain safety standards at all times
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS Degree in HSE, Engineering, Business, or equivalent work experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or equivalent professional designation preferred
- Experience with programmatic (Compliance and Performance) audits/inspections, including record keeping and action-item resolution
- Experience establishing, managing, and leading cross-functional teams
- Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience in an HSE department with a background in electrical safety and O&M HSE operations
- Wind farm experience desirable
- Knowledge of HSE disciplines (General Industry, Construction, and Behavior-Based Safety, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 / OHSAS 18001 is a plus
- Proven interpersonal, verbal/written communication, negotiation, leadership, organizational skills, and a pro-active attitude
- Ability to balance conflicting goals, responsibilities, and priorities
- Ability to analyze situations in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare plans and reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Standard, and similar applications
- Certified OSHA 500 or 501 trainer preferred
- Must be able and willing to travel approximately 100%
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to hold a U.S. Passport
- Must be insurable under the company auto insurance policy and subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks
- Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 265 lbs. or less
- Must pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner
- Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to properly use applicable safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
- Must speak and understand English fluently
