About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the on-site subject matter expert regarding Nordex IMS.
  • Apply standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Provide input for continuous improvement of quality standards.
  • Prepare reports for the Quality Lead, Site Manager, and Quality Manager on quality issues and site activities.
  • Train contracted quality inspectors and direct their day-to-day activities.
  • Perform and document process audits of site activities.
  • Create nonconformities for processes and materials deviating from instructions and specifications.
  • Manage nonconformities by updating information and communicating with Nordex Engineering, repair teams, and other involved parties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support implementation of corporate quality standards, operating procedures, training, internal auditing, and analytical technology across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and product quality.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma preferred OR an equivalent combination of experience, technical training, and safety certifications.
  • 3+ years’ experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Familiarity with technical standards and their application (ASTM, AWS, IEC, ISO standards).
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels including Nordex suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Experience in quality management/quality control processes.
  • ASQ Certified and Certified ISO auditor preferred.
  • Analytical skills – must be able to reach conclusions and make recommendations based on collected data.
  • Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and communicate effectively with others in oral and written form.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks including stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to climb to heights of 60 to 130 meters and supervise work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • 90–100% travel required.
  • Ability to work in construction environments and lift up to 23 kg (50 pounds).
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international project sites and obtain a passport.
  • Must meet the weight requirement of 120 kg (265 lbs.) or less to safely use climbing equipment.
  • Must be able to work in Canada without company sponsorship and have the ability to obtain a US passport.
  • Full valid driver’s license and insurability under the company auto insurance policy.
  • Ability to successfully complete Canadian pre-employment screening requirements.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Fluent English required for safety communication and collaboration.
