About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure HSE compliance throughout WTG installation and finishing, reporting deviations
  • Advise the customer's BOP contractor on Nordex quality standards for handover to Commissioning, Customer, and Service departments
  • Provide technical support for mechanical and electrical activities of the customer's BOP contractor and Nordex contractors
  • Document and report quality or time deviations during WTG/WF installation, finishing, and commissioning using UPVISE
  • Oversee mechanical works against installation instructions and tooling maintenance requirements
  • Manage reception, use, and handover of Nordex tooling
  • Conduct incoming goods, quality gate, and customer walkdown inspections and quality-control checks
  • Support documentation management for handover to the customer and BOP contractor
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the customer's BOP contractor
  • Manage UPVISE Daily Progress Reports with live updates on supervised activities
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma preferred OR an equivalent combination of experience, technical training, and safety certifications
  • Experience in quality management and quality control processes; Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in mechanical, electrical, or construction fields; Wind Farm mechanical construction experience preferred
  • WTG on-site assembly experience required
  • Excellent technical knowledge, communication skills, and ability to build positive relationships with customers and subcontractors
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • English & French proficiency required; German and Spanish are a plus
  • Occasional international travel, including between Canada and the United States and other global locations
  • Must be able to work in Canada without company sponsorship and travel to the US for training
  • >80% travel required
  • Ability to spend 100% of the time at wind farms during construction
  • Full valid driver's license and eligibility under the auto insurance policy
  • Weight of 120kg (265 lbs.) or less to safely use climbing equipment and gear
  • Ability to complete Canadian regulatory pre-employment screening requirements
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to comply with safety regulations and company policies
  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
  • Ability to use required safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
  • Fluent spoken and understood English for safety and job-related communication
