About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure HSE compliance throughout the WTG installation and finishing process and report deviations
- Advise the customer's BOP contractor to meet Nordex quality standards for handover to Commissioning, Customer, and Service departments
- Provide technical support for mechanical and electrical activities of the customer's BOP contractor and Nordex contractors
- Document and report quality or time deviations during WTG/WF installation, finishing, and commissioning using UPVISE
- Oversee mechanical works according to installation instructions and tooling maintenance requirements
- Oversee reception, use, and handover of Nordex tooling
- Conduct incoming goods, quality gate, and customer walkdown inspections and quality control checks
- Assist with documentation for handover to the customer and BOP contractor
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with the customer's BOP contractor
- Manage UPVISE Daily Progress Reports with live updates on supervised activities
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma preferred OR an equivalent combination of experience, technical training, and safety certifications
- Experience in quality management and quality control processes; Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in mechanical, electrical, or construction fields; Wind Farm mechanical construction experience preferred
- WTG on-site assembly experience required
- Excellent technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and subcontractors
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
- English & French Proficiency is required; other languages are a plus (German & Spanish)
- Occasional international travel, including travel between Canada and the United States and other global locations
- Must be able to work in Canada with no Company sponsorship and have the ability to travel to the US for training
- >80% travel required
- Ability to spend 100% of the time at wind farms during the construction process
- Full valid driver's license and insurability under the auto insurance policy
- Ability to meet the weight requirement of 120kg (265 lbs.) or less to safely utilize climbing equipment and climbing gear
- Ability to successfully complete all Canadian regulatory laws surrounding pre-employment screening requirements
- Commitment to safety protocols, procedures, regulations, and company policies
- Ability to properly use applicable safety equipment
- Fluent spoken and understood English for safety and job-related communication
