About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a team of sourcing professionals supporting Nordstrom Technology across Software, Hardware, Telecom, and AI/Infrastructure spend
- Build trusted, forward-leaning partnerships with Technology executives
- Design and develop the sourcing organization, coaching professionals on partnership and consultative approaches
- Drive speed and urgency into deals, reducing cycle times and removing friction and unnecessary approvals
- Build proactive relationships with Technology leaders during roadmap and budget planning
- Develop and execute category strategies, including commodity and supplier risk management recommendations
- Manage strategic technology supplier performance and continuous improvement
- Apply global technology supplier, competitor, market, and AI-sourcing intelligence to identify risk, savings, and innovation opportunities
- Create forward-looking visibility into technology deals, renewals, and negotiations
- Lead systematic change toward best-in-class sourcing performance
- Lead complex, high-value technology negotiations
- Prioritize and manage concurrent sourcing strategies, projects, and deadlines across the technology portfolio
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ years of global strategic sourcing/procurement experience, ideally supporting a Technology organization in a high-growth, retail, or fast-paced enterprise environment
- 10+ years of team leadership and/or people management experience
- Demonstrated track record of building trust with skeptical or high-velocity technology stakeholders and turning that trust into faster, better-partnered outcomes
- Market-leading knowledge of global market analysis, macro-economic drivers, sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, strategic vendor alliance programs, 'should-cost' models, and multi-year negotiation strategies
- Familiarity with AI and agentic sourcing tools and their impact on category strategy, market intelligence, and negotiation support
- Knowledge of critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices
- Exceptional ability to influence at a Senior Executive level, internally and externally
- Exceptional written and oral communication
- Strong experience with MS Office Suite, Oracle, BI Apps, charting programs, and other sourcing/procurement tools
