About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning and analysis, including close and variance analysis
- Lead annual and long-term financial planning
- Develop and enhance financial models and scalable tools using data sources and KPIs
- Support planning and forecasting, analyze past performance, and predict future trends
- Analyze large data sets and translate findings for finance and non-finance audiences
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and improve business outcomes
- Communicate trade-offs, benefits, and priorities with business leaders
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and special projects
- Present findings to senior leadership
- Drive process improvements, automation, and streamlined reporting
- Reconcile outputs to source-of-truth data and improve accuracy
- Identify financial trends, opportunities, and risks and provide actionable recommendations
- Support Corporate FP&A, Nordstrom Stores, or Store Operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of relevant experience in a corporate Senior Financial Analyst role or related analyst role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience owning forecasting/budgeting and close variance analysis
- Ability to model, analyze, and interpret data to drive business insights
- Ability to influence the business with data storytelling and recommendations
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Oracle, Anaplan, Tableau, Hyperion Essbase, Power BI, and SQL or similar tools is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Meticulous attention to detail and focus on data integrity, controls, and accuracy
- Experience presenting financial data to senior or executive leadership is highly preferred
- Intellectual curiosity and continuous-improvement mindset
