About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create action plans with merchandising leadership for Nordstrom Made to drive growth, profitability, and efficiencies
  • Partner on brand-owned inventory initiatives such as concessions
  • Deliver forecasting accuracy, actionable performance insights, and strategic recommendations
  • Lead merchandising expense management, including long-term expense strategy, near-term forecasting, close, and reporting
  • Partner with Finance and Merchandising teams on sales, margin, and inventory
  • Support development of financial models, analytical and reporting tools, and ad hoc analyses or special projects
  • Drive process improvements and reporting standardization or simplification
  • Provide support, leadership, and coaching for team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or a similar field
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with retail finance preferred
  • 3+ years of prior management and/or supervision experience
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to coach others on data-driven storytelling
  • Skilled at collaborating and influencing across finance and merchandising teams
  • Ability to translate financial analysis and insights into actionable business recommendations
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL and/or Power BI desired
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including advanced MS Excel
  • Anaplan or similar tool experience nice to have
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must work in the Seattle office 4 days per week
  • No relocation offered
