About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, lead, and implement the multi-year Source-to-Pay strategy and roadmap
  • Lead, coach, and develop the S2P systems team
  • Build team skills in platform configuration, automation, and applied AI
  • Serve as functional owner of Nordstrom's Coupa source-to-pay platform
  • Identify and prioritize AI and automation use cases across the S2P process
  • Guide Technology and S2P system administrators in building AI and automation solutions
  • Advise and present to VPs and build alignment on priorities and tradeoffs
  • Lead cross-functional work with Technology, Legal, Product, and Finance
  • Set system request priorities and provide procedural guidance to partners
  • Lead change management and adoption, including communication and training
  • Develop and deliver reporting and business insights on operational procurement metrics
  • Evaluate emerging S2P and AI technology and recommend whether to build, buy, or partner
  • Own controls for the S2P system and process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in an accounting, business, engineering, supply chain, technology, or related discipline
  • MBA or related advanced degree preferred
  • Eight (8) years of proven experience in increasingly broader procurement operations or procurement technology roles
  • Consistent track record of achievement and source-to-pay transformation in high-growth environments
  • Significant demonstrated functional ownership experience with source-to-pay or procure-to-pay software solutions such as Coupa, Workday, SAP, Ariba, or similar
  • Experience applying or piloting AI or automation in a source-to-pay system
  • Experience leading and developing technical teams, such as system administrators or business systems analysts
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, and drive adoption of change
  • Track record of developing and implementing strategies and roadmaps that deliver results
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, practices, and control frameworks
  • Working knowledge of the contracting process
  • Experience partnering with Sourcing, Vendor Management, and other Procurement teams
  • Advanced analytical skills, with financial acumen and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to understand, organize, and communicate complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to varied audiences
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
