About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Source, purchase, and manage the supply of materials and components required for manufacturing
Ensure timely procurement of quality materials at competitive costs
Maintain strong supplier relationships and optimize inventory levels
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance
Represent the purchasing organization in daily operation updates
Maintain on-time delivery of supplier shipments
Manage and collaborate on strategies to meet production schedules
Maintain departmental reports for management review, including open orders and vendor on-time delivery
Ensure accuracy and proper approval for all purchase orders
Manage purchase order suggestions, including expedites, de-expedites, and cancellations
Develop, evaluate, and maintain supplier relationships; resolve supplier delivery issues
Coordinate and assist with resolving invoice disputes between suppliers and accounting
Complete departmental standard work based on managers’ daily cadence requirements
Lead purchasing projects as assigned by the purchasing manager
Meet inventory targets provided by the manager
Align planning parameters and safety stock to demand changes
Provide monthly forecasts to suppliers and discuss changes affecting business support
Monitor inventory to align trade working capital goals with demand requirements
Assist with documenting departmental processes and procedures
Serve as a department lead as required
Serve as backup for the purchasing manager when required
Develop inventory projects to reduce inventories

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in related field – supply chain management a plus
APICS, CPM or CPSM certification preferred
5+ years minimum work experience in supply chain or related field, preferred
Customer Experience mindset
Earn others’ trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
Work cooperatively with others without regard to level or status to achieve results
Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, and achieve results with little oversight
Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment
