About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare supplies and equipment for interventions using appropriate techniques
  • Assist with and/or perform patient procedures within unit-specific skills scope
  • Assist the healthcare team with pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care, including specimen handling
  • Process and request provider orders to the RN
  • Provide psychological and social support to patients and families
  • Transport patients to and from the unit and for discharge
  • Observe patients, communicate changes in condition to the RN, and implement directed corrective actions
  • Address technical needs related to patient conditions
  • Document interventions, patient responses, changes in condition, and patient/family needs in CIS
  • Communicate referral needs to the RN
  • Manage, troubleshoot, disinfect, sterilize, and arrange repair of equipment and supplies
  • Maintain supply inventory
  • Report safety incidents through the Midas/RDE tool and attend safety training
  • Follow regulatory, organizational, hospital, and departmental patient-care and safety standards
  • Complete required training and maintain valid certifications and licenses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • BLS (American Heart Association) required upon hire
  • SGNA certification preferred
  • Recent experience as an Endoscopy Tech preferred
  • Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
  • Ability to meet the 'Yes—within 20 minutes' response requirement
  • Ability to work variable schedules and provide call coverage
  • Ability to maintain current required certifications and/or licenses
  • Completion of mandatory company modules and job-specific training within specified time frames
