About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare patients for imaging examinations and assist with imaging procedures under the direction of imaging technologists
- Transport infants, children, adolescents, adults, and elderly patients to and from imaging and other facility areas
- Expedite trauma and critical patients in the imaging department
- Document patient medical data under supervision
- Assist with minor procedures, patient transfers, monitoring, dressing biopsy sites, and other assigned clinical tasks
- Maintain department, equipment, and patient-care-area cleanliness
- Assist with post-procedure exam processing and preparation of patient trays, equipment, and exam rooms
- Deliver specimens to appropriate locations
- Perform EKGs as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow infection-control and isolation precautions
- Answer, evaluate, and prioritize administrative telephone calls and provide accurate information
- Assist with scheduling, front-desk duties, quality-control data collection, and patient-information review
- Use PACS to burn CDs and fax reports to physicians
- Troubleshoot issues and manage supplies, inventory, outdated supplies, and laundry bins
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, technologists, radiologists, multidisciplinary staff, and non-technical staff
- Report safety incidents, attend safety training, monitor the work environment, and complete required training and compliance activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required
- Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire
- Fingerprint Clearance Card required within 90 days of hire
- EMT, CNA, MA, or Phlebotomist preferred
- EMT/CNA/MA or comparable patient care experience preferred
- IV starts skills within 6 months from date of hire preferred
- 6 months' experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
- Ability to comply with state and federal regulations, company policies, safety policies, infection control practices, and isolation precautions
