About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with nutrition staff and hospital staff to provide care and wellness to patients, staff, and visitors
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food using menus, recipes, production sheets, tally sheets, cooking equipment, and safe food handling techniques
  • Ensure food production quality and compliance with recipes, procedures, NAH policies, CMS requirements, county requirements, and other regulations
  • Access patient diet lists and the electronic diet office system
  • Prepare food for patient and café lines
  • Assist in the dish room
  • Check patient trays for diet modifications and accuracy
  • Prepare and deliver patient trays, nourishments, and snacks
  • Serve food at the presentation station
  • Operate cash registers during lunch periods and as scheduled
  • Fill, deliver, record CaterTrax billing, and stock food and supplies on nursing units and departments
  • Prepare Grab and Go items and maintain par levels for patient tray lines and café
  • Substitute as a barista when needed
  • Work across several kitchen areas, including the café, coffee shop, and gift shop
  • Stock vending machines and sort supplies for patient pantry units
  • Follow cleaning, sanitization, infection-control, and HACCP procedures
  • Report safety incidents through the Midas/RDE tool and attend safety training
  • Maintain current required certifications and complete mandatory training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent qualifying experience — Preferred
  • Coconino County Food Handler's Card within 30 days of hire — Required
  • Barista coffee experience — Preferred
  • Healthcare food service experience — Preferred
  • Diet technician/nutrition experience — Preferred
  • Computer experience — Preferred
  • Cash register experience — Preferred
  • Understanding of computers and competence using basic software programs
  • Ability to comply with HACCP, infection precautions, company policies, and applicable regulations
  • Ability to complete mandatory modules and job-specific training within the specified timeframe
