About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with nutrition staff and hospital staff to provide optimal care and wellness to patients, staff, and visitors
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food for patients, visitors, and staff using menus, recipes, production sheets, tally sheets, cooking equipment, and safe food-handling techniques
  • Ensure food production is high quality and complies with specified recipes, procedures, CMS, County, and other applicable regulations
  • Access patient diet lists and electronic diet office systems
  • Prepare food for patient and café lines
  • Assist in the dish room and clean service ware
  • Check patient trays for diet modifications and accuracy
  • Prepare and deliver patient trays, nourishments, and snacks
  • Serve food at the Presentation station
  • Work as a cashier during lunch periods and as scheduled
  • Fill, deliver, record in Catertrax billing, and stock food and supplies on nursing units and departments
  • Prepare Grab and Go items and maintain par levels for patient tray lines and café
  • Substitute as a barista for PTO and call-off needs
  • Cross-train in several kitchen areas
  • Work as a cashier at the café, coffee shop, or Gift shop
  • Stock and fill vending machines across campus
  • Sort supplies for patient pantry units
  • Follow HACCP, master cleaning guidelines, infection precautions, and workstation sanitization procedures
  • Report safety-related incidents through the Midas/RDE tool and attend safety training
  • Participate in training new staff and assisting with staff schedules
  • Use the electronic patient menu system and take room-service meal orders in the call center according to dietary guidelines and protocols

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent qualifying experience- Preferred
  • Yavapai County Food Handler's Card within 30 days of hire- Required
  • Barista coffee experience - Preferred
  • Healthcare food service experience- Preferred
  • Diet technician/nutrition experience- Preferred
  • Computer experience- Preferred
  • Cash register experience- Preferred
  • Understanding of computers and competence in using computers and basic software programs
  • Must complete company mandatory modules and required job-specific training within the specified time frame
  • Must comply with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies
  • Must keep required certifications and/or licenses up to date and valid before expiration
