About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, treat, plan, implement, educate, communicate, and demonstrate leadership to address patient and family needs
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient care
  • Provide one-on-one treatment and practice at the top of the occupational therapy license
  • Supervise occupational therapy assistants, technicians, and students
  • Attend and actively participate in patient team conferences and family conferences
  • Determine follow-up outpatient therapy needs and make post-discharge recommendations
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, patient responses, learning needs, discharge plans, and care in the EMR and patient record
  • Revise and update treatment plans based on assessment
  • Act as a resource and provide mentoring and educational opportunities to rehabilitation staff, other departments, and the community
  • Review patient history and relevant data before evaluation
  • Evaluate and treat patients without a physician order or referral when permitted by Board of Medical Directors Rule
  • Assist patients and families with discharge planning
  • Report safety incidents and maintain a safe work environment
  • Comply with state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and patient-care standards
  • Complete charges promptly and respond to new orders according to department policy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Current license in the state of Arizona required
  • BLS (American Heart Association) required upon date of hire
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card required within 90 days of hire
  • Maintain appropriate clinical competencies for assigned roles
  • Clinical documentation experience preferred
  • Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
  • Ability to care for infants, children, adolescents and/or senior patients
  • Practice within defined standards of care
  • Complete mandatory modules and required job-specific training
  • Meet departmental productivity goals
  • Attend 75% of department monthly meetings in a 12-month period
