About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director
  • Maintain unit cleanliness, supplies, organization, and cleanup after treatments
  • Assist with patient transfers, mobility, activities of daily living, compression garments, dressing removal, and therapeutic exercises
  • Observe skin integrity and report abnormal findings to supervising clinicians
  • Assist with catheter and IV removal and phlebotomy within scope of practice
  • Prioritize and problem-solve in response to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to support quality patient care and appropriate staffing
  • Assess patient care needs and serve as a resource to other staff
  • Assist physicians with EMR order entry as needed
  • Support discharge activities, including vehicle transfers, discharge instructions, interdisciplinary collaboration, DME, and EMR documentation
  • Answer and prioritize administrative telephone calls and collect accurate caller information
  • Assist with orientation and training of new PCT staff
  • Maintain unit documents, charts, and chart copies
  • Assist the charge nurse with clerical duties
  • Document objective patient data, care provided, and reported abnormal findings
  • Follow safety, isolation, bloodborne pathogen, and organizational policies
  • Report safety incidents, attend required training, and maintain certifications and competencies
  • Float/Flex Pool PCTs may work on any hospital unit, change departments during a shift, or work as a Patient Safety Attendant as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current, unrestricted CNA or LNA license in the State of Arizona required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • If employee does not have an Arizona LNA license: Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire
  • If employee does not have an Arizona LNA license: Fingerprint Clearance Card required within 90 days from date of hire
  • Maintain appropriate clinical competencies for assigned roles
  • Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
  • Ability to comply with state and federal regulations, company policies, mandatory training, and job-specific training
  • For Discharge PCT: ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community agencies
  • For Discharge PCT: ability to use EMR for documentation and communication
  • For Discharge PCT: knowledge of available community resources
  • For Discharge PCT: understanding of post-discharge resource planning
