About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate care for patients and their families
- Provide direct patient care, patient and family education, and discharge planning
- Assess patients' needs and conditions by gathering relevant health information
- Identify outcomes, develop individualized care plans, and implement interventions
- Evaluate patient progress and revise diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans as needed
- Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
- Perform aseptic techniques and maintain infection prevention standards
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with procedures and patient transportation throughout the hospital
- Participate in evidence-based practice, research, in-service education, and educational seminars
- Mentor and educate colleagues and students
- Provide leadership to ancillary personnel as team leader and preceptor
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses
- Report safety incidents and monitor the work environment for safety issues
- Practice in a safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manner
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associates degree or diploma in nursing; BSN preferred
- All associate degree nurses must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position
- Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license required
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- PALS required
- NIHSS required within 30 days of hire
- STABLE Program at FMC required within 60 days of hire
- ATCN or TNCC required within 18 months of hire
- Emergency Nursing: 1 year of emergency department experience, pediatric or adult
- New to Specialty: 1 year as an acute care nurse; critical care preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Basic computer software proficiency, including Windows
- Ability to work nights
- Must comply with ANA Scope of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, specialty standards, regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and departmental procedures
- Must complete mandatory modules and job-specific training within specified time frames
- Must maintain current certifications and licenses
