About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate care for patients and their families, including direct care, education, and discharge planning
  • Assess patients and gather relevant health information
  • Identify outcomes and develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Evaluate patient progress and revise diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans as needed
  • Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Perform aseptic techniques and maintain sterile fields
  • Maintain infection prevention standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Assist with procedures and hospital transportation as needed
  • Lead ancillary personnel, serve as a team leader and preceptor, and participate actively in the healthcare team
  • Participate in mentoring and educating colleagues and students
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses
  • Report safety incidents and comply with regulatory, organizational, hospital, and departmental standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree
  • Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • NIHSS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016 must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position
  • Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for assigned roles
  • Must complete mandatory modules and required job-specific training within the specified timeframe
  • Must maintain current certifications and licenses
  • Call may be required depending on the nursing unit
