About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate care for patients and their families
- Provide direct patient care, patient and family education, and discharge planning
- Assess patients and gather relevant health information
- Diagnose nursing needs, identify outcomes, develop individualized care plans, and implement them
- Assess patient progress and revise diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans as appropriate
- Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
- Perform aseptic techniques and maintain sterile fields
- Maintain infection prevention standards
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with procedures and patient transportation throughout the hospital
- Participate in evidence-based practice, research, in-service education, and professional development
- Mentor and educate colleagues and students
- Lead ancillary personnel, serve as a preceptor, and participate actively as a healthcare team member
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses
- Report safety incidents and monitor the work environment for safety issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree
- Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIHSS certification within 30 days of hire
- RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016 must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position
- Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
- Must obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for assigned roles
- Must complete mandatory modules and required job-specific training within the specified timeframe
- Must comply with hospital, departmental, state, and federal regulations and policies
- On-call availability may be required depending on the nursing unit
