About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate care for patients and families, including direct care, education, and discharge planning
- Assess patient health information, conditions, needs, and progress
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized plans of care
- Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
- Perform aseptic techniques and maintain sterile fields
- Maintain infection prevention standards
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with procedures and transportation throughout the hospital
- Participate in evidence-based practice, research, in-service education, and seminars
- Mentor and educate colleagues and students
- Lead ancillary personnel, serve as a preceptor, and contribute as an active healthcare team member
- Maintain timely and accurate assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses
- Report safety incidents and monitor the work environment for safety issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position for RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016
- Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required within 90 days of hire
- CPAN preferred
- Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
- Must comply with ANA Scope of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, specialty standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies
- Must complete mandatory modules and job-specific training
- Must maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Must be able to work a variable schedule and take call
