About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, install, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure
- Set strategic direction and provide leadership for network infrastructure design, engineering, and implementation
- Develop methodologies for design, engineering, security, and testing
- Lead network projects and ensure documentation and timely progress updates
- Track system lifecycles and provide replacement recommendations
- Provide mentoring, training, and guidance to peers
- Lead resolution of complex network issues and provide the highest level of support
- Install and validate LAN/WAN switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
- Communicate complex technical solutions and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot hardware, software, and circuit issues
- Monitor network performance and capacity and report findings
- Create and maintain network infrastructure documentation and knowledge base articles
- Implement cable labeling, routing, bundling, and management practices
- Follow ITIL/ITSM best-practice standards
- Remain current on network technologies through reading, seminars, workshops, and vendor information
- Maintain security configuration changes and appropriate audit trails
- Report safety-related incidents and complete required safety training and company modules
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED – Required
- Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience – Required
- Thorough knowledge of Cisco and/or Aruba systems – Required
- Thorough knowledge of IP subnetting, VLAN, WLAN, WAN and LAN – Required
- Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model – Required
- Thorough knowledge of routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP – Required
- Working knowledge of Cisco ISE or ClearPass – Required
- Working knowledge of Cisco Spaces or similar RTLS systems – Required
- Working knowledge of VMware Virtual Networking – Required
- Previous experience with change management processes – Required
- Bachelors Degree in a related field of study – Preferred or equivalent education/experience
- CompTIA Network+ – Preferred
- Cisco CCNA – Preferred
- Cisco CCNP – Preferred
- Healthcare IT experience – Preferred
- Knowledge of ServiceNow – Preferred
- Ability to meet mandatory on-call response time of 30 minutes or less
- Ability to comply with IT security policies, state and federal regulations, company policies, mandatory training, and safety requirements
