  • Provides comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across all age groups and acuity levels
  • Assesses, treats, and manages patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Performs advanced respiratory procedures, including mechanical ventilation management, arterial blood gas analysis, airway management, and advanced ventilation modes
  • Ensures VAP protocol compliance
  • Operates nitric oxide delivery systems
  • Completes billing paperwork and accurate clinical documentation in the EMR
  • Performs lead responsibilities in the absence of the lead Respiratory Therapist
  • Coordinates daily staffing assignments and workflow distribution
  • Resolves operational issues and staff concerns during assigned shifts
  • Serves as primary contact for interdisciplinary teams and hospital administration
  • Makes decisions regarding resource allocation and patient prioritization
  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and documents competency assessments
  • Conducts hands-on competency validation and provides targeted education and remediation
  • Orients, trains, mentors, and provides clinical guidance to respiratory therapists
  • Develops individualized learning plans and collaborates with education staff on orientation programs
  • Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Conducts chart audits and analyzes clinical practice patterns and outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree from an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program - Required
  • Licensed by the Arizona Board of Respiratory Care Examiners - Required
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS - Required
  • NRP required within 90 days from date of hire and/or providing care in a special care nursery
  • 1 specialty credential ACCS, C\RPFT, NPS, Certified Asthma, Pulmonary Disease Educator Certification, or AHA Certified Instructor - Preferred
  • 2 years of acute care experience - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree - preferred
  • No telecommuting
