About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive enterprise strategy, program development, and new business growth opportunities
- Report to the Director of Business Development
- Collaborate across executive leadership, sector business development teams, and program management
- Manage and grow the opportunity pipeline through strategic customer outreach and targeted campaign planning
- Oversee the Business Acquisition Process, including growth strategy, opportunity qualification, pursuit prioritization, capture plan development, and internal review gates
- Engage operational and acquisition customers, U.S. Government representatives, and Northrop Grumman leadership
- Conduct initial technical and concept discussions with customers and translate mission needs into differentiating solutions
- Develop briefings, white papers, and RFI responses
- Develop and execute business development strategies for modernization and sustainment
- Influence internal investment planning and shape business priorities
- Lead multifunctional teams across engineering, program management, finance, legal, and government relations
- Develop mission discriminators through architectures, payloads, technology strategies, management approaches, and competitive cost solutions
- Support government relations and legislative advocacy plans
- Use SalesForce to track opportunity health and drive business development execution
- Build relationships with senior government and military decision-makers, program offices, and contracting officers
- Represent Northrop Grumman at congressional events, conferences, trade shows, and other industry events
- Promote business development best practices and contribute to a high-performance culture
- Ensure compliance with company standards, ethics, and government regulations
- Apply defense and national security space acquisition processes to guide bid decisions
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must either have a bachelor's degree with 10 years' experience or a master's degree with 7 years' experience or a PhD with 4 years' experience
- Minimum 10 years’ military experience with operational bomber time
- Knowledge of Department of War and U.S. Navy procurement and acquisition processes
- Demonstrated experience with mission requirements
- Proven track record in leading / developing winning strategies and tactics to win
- Experience leading and mentoring cross functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
- Business development, strategy, capture management, or program management experience in the defense or aerospace sectors
- Experience with US Air Force legislative processes
- Direct experience cultivating SalesForce pipeline and opportunity management
- Demonstrated success supporting cross-sector initiatives
- Experience briefing and influencing internal and external senior leadership
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
