About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day business operations and drive operational excellence
  • Ensure people, processes, and systems are aligned to achieve organizational goals
  • Develop and execute operational strategies supporting short- and long-term objectives
  • Translate strategic goals into operational plans with priorities, metrics, and timelines
  • Monitor operational performance and recommend adjustments
  • Analyze processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement productivity and cost improvements
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • Lead, mentor, and develop managers and staff
  • Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and create development plans
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and high performance
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, including NCTA and department budgets
  • Optimize allocation of people, tools, and vendors
  • Partner with Finance to forecast operational needs and support planning cycles
  • Collaborate with Business Management, HR, Engineering, and Supply Chain to secure resources for Future Concepts programs
  • Serve as a key contact between executive leadership and operational teams
  • Lead or support cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Define and track KPIs
  • Prepare and present operational reports and insights to senior leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, program management, or related roles
  • 3–5+ years in a leadership position managing teams and budgets
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities
  • Proven ability to design and optimize processes and systems
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking of programs
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with productivity and data tools (e.g., Excel, dashboards, ERP/CRM systems)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Current U.S. Secret clearance, with ability obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
  • Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or related)
  • Preferred: Experience in industry, e.g., manufacturing, professional services, technology, aerospace/defense
  • Preferred: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI clearance
