About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and release cable and harness engineering solutions and associated Product Definition Packages
- Research, plan, and develop electrical subsystems for test data instrumentation systems
- Produce engineering layouts and drawings, define system architectures, and create solutions for challenging test environments
- Perform system- and component-level analyses of complex test and instrumentation systems
- Engineer and test electrical components and instrumentation subsystems
- Support manufacturing and testing of components and instrumentation systems
- Lead research, analysis, system design, and development efforts, including hardware procurement and supplier technical oversight
- Apply engineering principles to mechanical and electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, and test equipment
- Support test and flight operations by authoring procedures and engineering instructions
- Develop interconnect diagrams for test lines, test events, and hardware configurations
- Design and release cable and harness designs for lab testing
- Perform voltage drop analyses and other electrical calculations
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Lab Integration, and Test teams
- Design and implement test and measurement systems in a lab environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- T02 Electrical Engineer: 2 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; Master's degree with 0 years of experience; additional 4 years in lieu of a degree
- T03 Principal Electrical Engineer: 5 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field; Master's degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 1 year of experience; additional 4 years in lieu of a degree
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Ability to obtain active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, or current and within scope (< 6 yrs)
- Ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period
- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4 and AS50881
- 1+ years of experience using CAD design tools such as NX, CATIA, or Capital
- 1+ years of experience with cable/harness design, preferably following military and/or aviation standards
