About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build systems using engineering drawings, configuration and recovery documentation
  • Support startup and shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, and post-delivery support
  • Build and install custom cables, wire harness assemblies, and tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
  • Maintain laboratory space, including 5S and tool control
  • Support development engineering activities including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic systems
  • Conduct routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks
  • Perform operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications
  • Diagnose and isolate malfunctions to the component level
  • Conduct engineering tests and collect data
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
  • Travel approximately 10% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies
  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous-materials in accordance with safety regulations
  • Must pass a vision exam that tests for color blindness to confirm the ability to visually differentiate cables and wires based on their color
  • Experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude to learn new material quickly
  • Willingness and ability to work full-time, on-site at the facility; no remote, hybrid, or telework available
  • Willingness and ability to work Monday thru Friday 5/40 schedule
  • Willingness and ability to support varying shifts, overtime, and holidays as needed to support business objectives
  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance (preferred)
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret clearance with investigation date within the last 5 years (preferred)
  • Proficiency with JIRA (preferred)
  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation (preferred)
  • Experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards (preferred)
  • Experience with industry standards for connectors including, but not limited to D38999, Dsub, twinax, RJ45, etc. (preferred)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance
