About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform system integration, verification, and validation for total systems
  • Support systems across concept, design, test, installation, operation, and maintenance
  • Convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions within technical and schedule constraints
  • Maintain and update operations procedures, including lessons learned from real-time performance
  • Develop new procedures as required
  • Interface with program and customer personnel
  • Decompose and allocate requirements across hardware, firmware, software, and functional engineering groups
  • Develop and release systems engineering artifacts, including specifications, architectures, CONOPS, design documents, diagrams, control documents, test plans, reports, analysis plans, inspection plans, configured item lists, and deployment procedures
  • Collaborate with functional engineering groups to synthesize requirements, capability statements, technology integration, and high-level designs into implementable designs
  • Support engineering development, production, and deployment milestones internally and externally
  • Review and provide feedback on engineering drawings and documentation
  • Document and communicate process improvements and new technologies for potential implementation
  • Work onsite in Dulles or Fairfax, Virginia

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at the time of application
  • Ability to obtain a Counter-Intelligence (CI) polygraph (Poly)
  • Level 2: BS degree in STEM with 2 years systems engineering experience, or Master's degree in STEM with 0 years experience
  • Level 3: BS degree in STEM with 5 years systems engineering experience, or Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience
  • Previous work as a systems engineer, system integrator, or software engineer
  • Experience with requirements engineering or MBSE
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Preferred: Experience using Jira/Confluence
  • Preferred: Experience using DOORS and/or Cameo for requirements management
  • Preferred: Experience creating interface description documents
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
