About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of USG regulations, including ITAR, EAR, BATFE, Anti-boycott Regulations, US Census and Customs Regulations
  • Work with Contracts, Supply Chain Management, Program Management, Engineering, New Business and other functional areas to determine export/import needs
  • Prepare and submit export/import authorization requests for international programs
  • Manage post-approval activities including recordkeeping, reporting requirements, approvals for data exports and international shipping authorizations
  • Assist the Global Trade Manager in developing and implementing strategies that meet business requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Present formally in meetings and training environments
  • Respond to export/import compliance questions from management, employees, customers and vendors
  • Support corrective action implementation
  • Negotiate export/import control issues with internal and external customers and resolve issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience
  • Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Basic knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and other US Government Export Regulations
  • Basic knowledge of Customs/Census, FAR/DFARS, TINA and other US Government Regulations
  • Experience reviewing and understanding contracts and associated scope of work and requirements
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with DESCARTE OCR EASE Export & Import Global Trade Compliance Software
  • Experience providing training to export licensing personnel and functional requesters
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
