About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and support Global Trade Compliance for the Weapons Integration & Mission Solutions Business Unit
- Manage a team of Global Trade professionals
- Manage transactional compliance involving ITAR and EAR regulations, licenses, agreements, exemptions, and exceptions
- Prepare export authorization application packages when required
- Drive accountability through metrics
- Provide advice, guidance, training, and authorization strategy on U.S. export regulations
- Provide day-to-day people and subject matter leadership and develop team talent
- Monitor changing export control laws and regulations and analyze their impact
- Provide global trade training and awareness to internal and external customers
- Investigate and support disclosure of potential non-compliance and corrective actions with the Law Department
- Collaborate with Technical Advisors and approve Jurisdiction and Classification reviews
- Build relationships with Business Development, Contracts, Global Supply Chain, and Programs
- Lead initiatives involving business process and tool development, automation, and continuous improvement
- Maintain trade compliance records according to regulatory and company requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 12 years of international trade compliance experience, OR bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years of international trade compliance experience, OR master's degree with a minimum of 6+ years of international trade compliance experience
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Proficiency in ITAR and EAR, including jurisdiction and classification determinations
- Knowledge of Technology Security and Foreign Disclosure (TSFD) process
- Experience reading and interpreting regulations and applying changes to procedures and practices
- Experience applying U.S. Government regulatory requirements in complex scenarios and solving complex problems
- Experience with OCR's EASE software
- Experience with Direct Commercial Sale and Foreign Military Sales export requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects and escalate potential conflicts appropriately
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 10% of the time
- Preferred: 2+ years' experience as an Empowered Official
- Preferred: Active U.S. security clearance (Secret or above)
- Preferred: Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Preferred: Experience providing training in person or virtually
- Preferred: Experience mentoring junior employees
