About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a team of Global Trade professionals
  • Serve as Empowered Official for transactional compliance with ITAR and EAR regulations
  • Prepare and process licenses and agreements and use exemptions and exceptions in lieu of licensing
  • Prepare export authorization application packages when required
  • Drive accountability through metrics
  • Provide advice, guidance, training, and authorization strategy on U.S. export regulations
  • Provide day-to-day people and subject matter leadership and develop team talent
  • Monitor changing export control laws and regulations and analyze their impact on services, technologies, policies, and procedures
  • Provide global trade training and awareness to internal and external customers
  • Investigate potential non-compliance and support disclosures and corrective actions with the Law Department
  • Coordinate with Technical Advisors and approve Jurisdiction and Classification reviews for the business unit
  • Establish relationships with Business Development, Contracts, Global Supply Chain, Programs, and internal customers
  • Lead initiatives involving development, automation, and continuous improvement of Global Trade processes and tools
  • Maintain trade compliance records according to regulatory and company requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 12+ years of international trade compliance experience, or bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years, or master's degree with a minimum of 6+ years
  • Proficiency in ITAR and EAR, including jurisdiction and classification determinations
  • Experience applying U.S. Government regulatory requirements in complex scenarios and solving complex problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving priorities, manage multiple projects, meet schedule and quality requirements, and exercise judgment about escalation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 15% of the time
  • Preferred: 2+ years as an Empowered Official
  • Preferred: Experience with OCR's EASE software
  • Preferred: Experience in Direct Commercial Sale and Foreign Military Sales export requirements
  • Preferred: Experience with USML Categories XI, XII, and XIII and related ECCNs
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Technology Security and Foreign Disclosure (TSFD) process
