About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Fabricate next-generation composite structures
  • Fabricate composite hardware using hand layup, bonding, assembly, trimming, and final finishing methods
  • Develop skills to competently perform tasks that produce products meeting customer expectations
  • Perform tasks individually or in team environments
  • Work at Manufacturing Technician Level 1 or Level 2 based on qualifications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma/GED and 9 months of experience OR completion of an approved Aircraft Fabrication or Composites course prior to starting (Manufacturing Technician 1)
  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of relatable aircraft manufacturing/production experience or similar (Manufacturing Technician 2)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
  • Ability to pass a New Hire Physical Exam
  • Ability to obtain and maintain respirator clearance and comply with all respirator fitting requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Successful completion of ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance within a reasonable time period
  • Composite experience and/or certification preferred
  • Aerospace assembly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools preferred
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications, and operating procedures preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
