About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support strategic vision, operations, and technical priorities for Vehicle Structures
  • Support projects focused on process, tool, and training development across Design, Structural Analysis, Material & Process, Liaison, and Standard Parts disciplines
  • Strengthen technical excellence and workforce capabilities
  • Partner with Northrop Grumman Fellows to advance emerging technologies and future workforce capabilities
  • Develop and maintain Vehicle Structures Principles and Operating Practices (PrOP)
  • Develop and maintain Process Asset Library (PAL) manuals and Nimbus Process Models
  • Ensure technical excellence and compliance in partnership with program execution teams
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Structures Discipline Process Technical Owners
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering discipline leads and integrators across the Center of Technical Excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineer Aeronautical level: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience, OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience
  • Principal Engineer Aeronautical level: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience, OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience, OR PhD in STEM with 1 year of related engineering experience
  • Experience in Vehicle Structures program execution within an integrated product team environment
  • Technical background in Design, Structural Analysis, Material & Process, Liaison, or Standard Parts
  • Experience utilizing Vehicle Structures methods, tools, standards, and processes
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience with or exposure to digital design initiatives and solutions
  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance, with required recent background investigation or Continuous Evaluation enrollment
  • Eligibility for Top Secret/SCI
  • Ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 25%
  • Preferred: BS or MS in STEM
  • Preferred: Current Special Program Access (PAR)
  • Preferred: Experience with Microsoft 365 Lists/Power Automate, Confluence, JIRA, NX, Teamcenter (CPLM) with Active Workspace, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint
  • Preferred: Knowledge of engineering design and analysis software systems
  • Preferred: Experience leading process optimization
