About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather, collect, record, track, and verify data from multiple sources and maintain mitigation records
- Lead obsolescence mitigation activities, including scheduling meetings, briefings, and discussion topics
- Prepare agendas and meeting minutes
- Participate in working groups and ad hoc committees/meetings
- Analyze and predict production and sustainment requirements to construct strategic obsolescence roadmaps for end-of-life subsystems and components
- Consider reliability, spares posture, technology insertion roadmap, supplier capabilities, and customer concurrence
- Engage senior management to coordinate and integrate DMS resolution activities
- Work with suppliers to resolve obsolescence issues at the lowest cost while maintaining high quality and reliability
- Assist in developing program metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of obsolescence mitigation activities
- Identify and pursue process improvements
- Organize, integrate, and lead group projects that aggregate obsolescence data into a system view
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience; OR a Master's of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related experience (Principal Engineer)
- Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience; OR a Master's of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related experience (Sr Principal Engineer)
- 2 years of experience in proactive DMSMS/obsolescence management (Principal Engineer)
- 3 years of experience in proactive DMSMS/obsolescence management (Sr Principal Engineer)
- Experience leading analyses spanning complex/multifunctional disciplines (Sr Principal Engineer)
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, including extensive formula calculations, pivot tables/charts, and macros
- Active Secret or higher clearance, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or current enrollment into Continuous Evaluation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued Top Secret, Special Access Program (SAP), and SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
- US Citizenship is a requirement for employment
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with a focus on data analysis, statistics, or system modeling (preferred)
- Current active in-scope U.S. Government-issued Top Secret clearance with special access (preferred)
- Previous project management experience (preferred)
- Experience with data mining techniques (preferred)
- Relevant experience in adjacent logistics support elements, including LSA & Maintenance Planning, ModSim, SEE, PHM, SLO, Obsolescence Management, Training & Training Systems, Technical Data, Support Hardware, Fleet & Field Support, and Product Support Management (preferred)
