About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control, lean manufacturing concepts, and Six Sigma tools and analyses
- Ensure performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards
- Review, analyze, and report quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems
- Investigate problems and develop dispositions and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met
- Recommend corrective actions, dispositions, and modifications
- Support the Mission Assurance organization and assigned team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Principal level: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of experience OR PhD and 1 year of experience
- Sr. Principal level: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of related experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of experience OR PhD and 4 years of experience
- Active U.S. Government clearance granted or renewed within the past 5 years, with ability to maintain it
- Ability to obtain and maintain special program access within a reasonable period of time
- Flight Release Certified
- Flightline experience
- Experience with configuration control, nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action in an aerospace environment
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
- Preferred: Previous internship/co-op or other work experience
- Preferred: Leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and professional/community/extracurricular activities
- Preferred: Experience writing Northrop Grumman documentation
- Preferred: Knowledge of USAF and other service-related documents, such as 8210 and 2101
- Preferred: Familiarity with AS9100/AS9110, ISO 9001, and/or customer-specific quality management system requirements
- Preferred: Experience presenting and interacting with DCMA, military customers, and foreign nationals
- Preferred: Experience with MES, SAP, PROP, and CPATS systems
- Preferred: Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA)
- Preferred: Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Preferred: PR/MR Authority
