About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, deploy, and enhance software solutions for laboratory test bench virtualization
  • Support virtualization of flight control, communication, and mission system functionalities
  • Develop virtual lab topology covering compute, storage, and networking using hypervisors and container orchestration
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code automation scripts for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
  • Build or integrate device emulation layers exposing virtual instruments through standard protocols
  • Implement audit logging for security and compliance
  • Create CI/CD pipelines for lab images, updates, and patches
  • Produce design diagrams, SOPs, and user guides
  • Train lab administrators
  • Work with domain experts to translate experimental procedures into reproducible virtual workflows

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Principal level: Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience, or Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or STEM Ph.D. and 1 year of related experience
  • Senior Principal level: Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience, or Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience, or STEM Ph.D. and 4 years of related experience
  • Active US Government Secret or higher clearance, with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Willingness and ability to obtain RHCSA certification
  • Experience using Git or similar version control systems
  • Experience working across Windows and/or Linux environments, including RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu, or similar distributions
  • Preferred: Experience with systemd, hypervisors, virtualization, virtual machines, HIL/SIL testing, firewall and reverse proxy software, OS automation tools, and DoD STIG implementation
  • Preferred: Active Top Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance
