About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and enhance capabilities supporting DAF CLOUDworks at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL)
  • Provide technical support to customers leveraging DAF CLOUDworks
  • Modify and enhance offerings to implement new requirements
  • Improve functionality and increase efficiency
  • Lower operating and deployment overhead
  • Participate as an active member of one of 10+ teams across information security, infrastructure development, and cloud migration
  • Follow Agile development processes and full life-cycle development
  • Interface with multiple geographically dispersed teams
  • Communicate project statuses and blockers
  • Support 24x7 on-call when required
  • Build mission-ready cloud applications for the Air Force

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in a Science discipline with 5+ years of software development experience OR master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience OR an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in a Science discipline with 8+ years of software development experience OR master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience OR an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI
  • Ability to obtain IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01, such as CASP+ or Security+, within 60 days of start date
  • Experience developing full-stack web applications using TypeScript, React, Node.js, CSS, Lambda, APIs, NoSQL databases, and Python
  • Experience with UI styling
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git)
  • Experience in AWS and/or Azure
  • Experience developing applications using Agile principles, processes, and tools
  • Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks
  • Demonstrated experience in cloud adoption, environment prototyping, and data migration
  • Preferred: Active Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI
  • Preferred: CompTIA Security+ certification or IAT Level II equivalent per DoD 8570.01
  • Preferred: Prior development experience with the Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of web security, including WAF, SQL injection and XSS prevention, and authentication/authorization through Zero Trust workflows (IAM, RBAC)
  • Preferred: Experience with GitLab runners and CI/CD pipelines
  • Preferred: Experience with document databases such as DynamoDB
  • Preferred: Exposure to or experience with React, Angular, Java, and JavaScript
  • Preferred: Experience with SonarQube or other static code analysis frameworks
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance
