About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review high-level program NX models and Interface Control Models for potential gaps or issues
- Drive process and technical gap resolution for interface and requirement design solutions
- Support engineering processes and analyses across product team designs
- Support delivery of design packages in a cross-functional environment
- Coordinate between SE&I and integration, systems, and mechanical design teams
- Mentor and coach team members
- Participate in technical planning, process development and improvement, cost management, and risk management
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation assessments, and interface definition studies
- Lead systems-of-systems integration activities, including integration test planning, problem identification and reporting, and integration event execution
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to facilitate effective communication
- Work independently with minimum supervision while maintaining ethical and professional standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
- Knowledge of mechanical design and design integration principles
- 1+ year(s) experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, e.g. CPLM/Siemens Teamcenter
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Principal Level: BS in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience, 3 years with Masters, or 1 year with PhD
- Principal Level: 3+ years experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Principal Level: 2+ years direct development experience of mechanical interface products (ICMs), including interfacing with other IPTs
- Principal Level: 1+ year(s) experience managing or executing interface products and requirement specifications
- Principal Level: 2+ years experience on large-scale/complex aerospace or defense system development across multiple EMD lifecycle phases
- Principal Level: 1+ year(s) experience developing and executing Mechanical Engineering process governance documentation and/or mechanical risk management
- Principal Level: 1+ year(s) experience developing 3D CAD models with PMI annotation using NX, Solid Edge, CATIA, or similar
- Sr Principal Level: BS in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of related experience, 6 years with Masters, or 4 years with PhD
- Sr Principal Level: 5+ years experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Sr Principal Level: 3+ years direct development experience of mechanical interface products (ICMs), including interfacing with other IPTs
- Sr Principal Level: 2+ years experience managing or executing interface products and requirement specifications
- Sr Principal Level: 3+ years experience on large-scale/complex aerospace or defense system development across multiple EMD lifecycle phases
- Sr Principal Level: 2+ years experience developing and executing Mechanical Engineering process governance documentation and/or mechanical risk management
- Sr Principal Level: 1+ year(s) experience in technical leadership environments
- Sr Principal Level: 2+ years experience developing 3D CAD models with PMI annotation using NX, Solid Edge, CATIA, or similar
- U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance
