About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create, issue, manage, and maintain manufacturing orders supporting production on the manufacturing floor
- Utilize and manage MRP systems, including Costpoint and Sync, to ensure approved materials flow in time to meet production schedules and requirements
- Interface with Material Planning and Receiving Quality Control to ensure parts are inventoried in time to support production
- Ensure materials are picked, delivered to point of use, and accurately and timely consumed in the MRP system
- Advise management on work-in-progress status, material availability, and potential production problems
- Schedule and expedite material movement through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping-order requests through inert and explosive areas
- Seek process and planning feedback from operations and incorporate it into planning where possible
- Reconcile inventory problems with operations, processing engineering, stores, receiving quality control, end item, quality engineering, shipping, and material planning
- Assist with implementing MRP-system and planning changes through the change-control process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Level 2: HS diploma and 6 years of experience in operations, operations management, process manufacturing, or engineering support; or a bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience; or a master’s degree
- Level 3: HS diploma and 10 years of experience in operations, operations management, process manufacturing, or engineering support; or a BS degree with 6 years of experience; or a master’s degree with 4 years of experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Excellent computer skills and ability to become an expert in MRP, Electronic Shop Floor work instruction, and document/engineering management software
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality controls
- Excellent productivity and organizational skills
- Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and execute quickly at the highest quality
- Experience working with others to improve processes and overall efficiencies
- Level 3: Experience working in Costpoint, including MO maintenance, demand generation, abbrevs, and material movement
- Level 3: Experience creating and maintaining schedules
- Level 3: Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
- Level 3: Advanced technical skills and ability to leverage technology to simplify tasks
- Level 3: Familiarity with government procedures
- Level 3: Understanding or certification in Lean Manufacturing
- Level 3: Proven history of leveraging multiple departments to solve complex issues
- U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
