About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts for the Mission Data Management Operating Unit, including IRAD proposals, planning, and oversight
Lead cross-organization technical collaboration on IRAD and captures across business units, divisions, and sectors
Ensure the technical vision and roadmap align with Business Unit, Division, and Sector technology interests and strategic objectives
Ensure required processes and procedures are followed so technical solutions meet quality standards
Consult on or lead technical solutioning for capture efforts
Participate in proposal development and reviews
Ensure appropriate collaboration between Chief Engineers across the Operating Unit and represented programs
Serve as the primary technical focal point for the Operating Unit Engineering Lead and Operating Unit Director

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 14 years of experience OR a master’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience OR a PhD with a minimum of 10 years of experience
Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance with ability to get TS/SCI clearance
U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite
Experience leading or participating in the responses to 5+ proposal solicitations
IRAD planning / execution experience
Experience deploying solutions across multiple programs and encouraging cross-program knowledge sharing
Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited information
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop relevant solutions
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with technical and business leadership
Preferred: Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
Preferred: Advanced degree in STEM or technical management
Preferred: Experience architecting solutions to meet DoD requirements
Preferred: Experience leading proposal solicitation responses, including architecture definition, BOE generation, and written volume creation
Preferred: Experience with program audits and subsequent responses
Preferred: Experience with BAAs and RFI responses
Preferred: Experience coordinating with external subcontractors and suppliers
