About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems containing logical and mathematical solutions
- Conduct multidisciplinary research
- Collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
- Determine computer user needs
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems involving program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls
- Prepare operating instructions
- Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
- Ensure software standards are met
- Support teams developing and deploying technologies relevant to national security
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree (Level 1)
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience or Master's degree with 1 year (Level 2)
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience, or Master's degree with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year (Level 3)
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience, or Master's degree with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years (Level 4)
- An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Active U.S. Government security clearance required at the time of application
- Experience with programming/scripting languages
- Understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle
- STEM degree preferred
- Active Top Secret clearance preferred
- Experience in ground software development preferred
- Experience with one or more of C/C++, Python, Node.js, Go, or Java preferred
- Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system preferred
- Familiarity with Agile principles, processes, and Atlassian tools preferred
- U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance
