About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, integrate, deploy, and sustain satellite ground software
Perform full-stack development at OS, platform, and mission-unique software layers
Develop client and server applications and services using service-oriented or object-oriented architectures
Implement message bus-based data exchange and first-of-a-kind capabilities
Work with Python, C++, Postgres, Ansible, cloud infrastructure provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis
Support ground software operations and configurations
Troubleshoot software errors and hardware affecting ground software operations
Support acceptance test events and run tests
Develop test automation
Configure ground segment software
Resolve and remediate software defects
Implement software enhancements driven by customer change requests or mission needs
Support ground software during launch and launch rehearsal events
Install new ground segment software in operational, development, and test environments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5 years of experience for Software Engineer Level 3; or master’s degree and 3 years; or PhD; experience may be considered in lieu of degree with an additional 4 years
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 8 years of experience for Software Engineer Level 4; or master’s degree and 6 years; or PhD and 3 years; experience may be considered in lieu of degree with an additional 4 years
Demonstrated software development experience
Python application development experience
C++ experience
Bash scripting experience
U.S. Citizenship
Current or active Top Secret clearance required at the time of application
Strong preference for Top Secret with SCI
