About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Familiarize yourself with the design, development, and sustainment of an avionics-related subsystem
  • Integrate and test avionics and payload systems
  • Interface directly with supplier technical staff to resolve issues in Northrop Grumman labs
  • Resolve integration issues by teaming with IPTs and suppliers while meeting program schedules
  • Work with weapon systems, aperture architecture and integration, advanced signal processing techniques, sensor modeling, survivability techniques, and sensor performance validation as applicable
  • Travel up to 25% may be required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience
  • Practical experience working with RF-related payload systems
  • Experience interfacing directly with supplier team technical staff to resolve issues in NG labs
  • Successful history of resolving integration issues with IPTs and suppliers while meeting program schedule
  • Active US Government Secret Clearance with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time
  • Experience in avionics/payloads system integration and test
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, and IPv4/IPv6
  • Experience with RF-based test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters
  • Experience working on Agile Scrum teams
  • Experience with C, C++, and/or Python
  • Layer 2/3 networking experience
  • Recent experience and proficiency in software architecture, design, implementation, integration, Docker Containers, and RHEL 8.10 or later
  • U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
