About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and develop material strategy
- Assess supply chain resources and aggregate and prioritize demand requirements
- Develop, coordinate, and execute material forecasting and delivery schedules
- Participate in make/buy processes, long-term capacity and resource planning, product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management, and product-line management
- Lead affordability, cost savings, and/or process improvement strategies
- Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
- Monitor inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
- Create or reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments
- Plan scheduling for new product line phase-ins and existing product line phase-outs
- Interface with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital, and other areas as needed
- Review requirements for non-standard parts
- Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements
- Support manufacturing production lines with planned and unplanned requirements in an expedited manner
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supplier quality, engineering, quality, production, and other support functions
- Prioritize and communicate impacts of current and potential material shortages
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience, a Master Degree and 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years experience for Level 4; experience must be in supply chain, procurement, logistics or another relevant field
- Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, a Master Degree and 10+ years of experience, or a PhD with 8+ years experience for Level 5; experience must be in supply chain, procurement, logistics or another relevant field
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite, with emphasis on Excel and Power Point
- Active U.S Government Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time after starting
- Experience with ERP system, specifically SAP desired
- Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing
- MES Program Experience
- Experience working knowledge in production planning process
- Working knowledge with Total Quality Management and/or Procurement and/or Supplier Quality Assurance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Developed organizational skills and ability to handle multi-tasking
- Self-motivated and able to work as a teammate and independently
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
