About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and mentor a regional systems engineering team of approximately 30 junior and senior engineers
  • Set technical priorities and review capability concepts and engineering products
  • Execute capability concepts, modeling, analysis, test support, and requirement verification
  • Produce and review requirements, architecture views, and interface documentation
  • Decompose operational needs into traceable system and interface requirements
  • Maintain requirements traceability and a model-based single source of truth
  • Facilitate requirement workshops with customers and subject matter experts
  • Develop and maintain logical and physical SysML architectures
  • Define subsystem boundaries, interfaces, and data flows for regional C2BMC functions
  • Create DoDAF- and UAF-aligned architecture viewpoints
  • Conduct architecture trade studies, reliability assessments, model-based simulations, and analyses
  • Generate model-derived test cases and support verification with Integration and Test teams
  • Analyze test results and update system models
  • Direct development and maintenance of Interface Control Documents and Interface Requirements Specifications
  • Work with government, DoD, and industry partners on requirements, architecture, and interfaces
  • Deliver technical briefings, architecture overviews, and traceability reports
  • Integrate MBSE tools with configuration and requirements management systems
  • Champion Model-Driven Development and Test, MDNT, Agile/Iterative SE, and DoD MBSE practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Project Management, Mathematics, Physics, or related field from an accredited university and 12 years of experience; or Master’s degree in a STEM-related field and 10 years of relevant work experience; or PhD in a related discipline and 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Current, active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher at application and throughout the contract period
  • Current, active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at application
  • Extensive systems engineering background with hands-on MBSE experience in missile defense or other high-complexity, mission-critical domains
  • Experience with SysML/UML modeling, requirement decomposition, and architecture development
  • Experience with regional C2BMC implementations, including sensor management, tasking, cueing, and discrimination
  • Strong understanding of BMDS operational constraints and environments
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ability to collaborate with government, DoD, industry, customer, and contractor organizations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
  • Experience with model-based requirements, architecture, verification, interface control, and stakeholder representation
  • Knowledge of DoDAF and UAF standards
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Systems Engineering
  • Preferred: Graduate Certificate in Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Preferred: INCOSE CSEP certification
  • Preferred: OMG OCSMP-MBI certification
  • Preferred: MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, or equivalent
  • Preferred: Requirements tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next, Jama Connect, Polarion, or similar
  • Preferred: MATLAB/Simulink, STK, or SysML simulation experience
  • Preferred: Model-derived test cases and SIL/HIL test campaign experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required for positions with government clearance
