About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Source and procure specialized goods and services
- Own contractual management of suppliers
- Manage source selection from contract proposal through execution
- Coordinate with contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program, and end-user stakeholders
- Develop subcontract specifications, work statements, and procurement terms and conditions
- Prepare RFP packages; analyze and evaluate proposals; negotiate subcontract provisions; select or recommend subcontractors; write awards; and administer resulting subcontracts
- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality, reliability, and ability to meet delivery schedules
- Identify cost-reduction, efficiency-improvement, and risk-management opportunities through negotiations
- Manage and lead supplier financial forecasting accuracy
- Manage subcontract performance and ensure compliance with public law, company policies, business procedures, and import/export regulations
- Assess supplier performance and ensure documentation supports proper receipt by logistics, transportation, and warehouse organizations
- Manage and develop strategic/key suppliers
- Review and approve supplier payments as needed
- Use Lean Six Sigma process tools with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Travel approximately 10% of the time
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience, or PhD with 4 years of professional experience
- An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Familiarity with FAR provisions and GSC policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge and proven historical performance of cradle-to-grave subcontract administration
- Experience preparing subcontractor Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and supporting the acquisition process
- Experience preparing and presenting briefings to leadership (internal/external)
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
- Preferred: Master’s Degree
- Preferred: Current and active DoD security clearance
- Preferred: Experience managing major subcontracts
- Preferred: Experience managing various subcontract types, including Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus Incentive or Fixed Fee, Time & Material, Labor Hour, and IDIQ
