About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct research, write requirements, develop models, define interfaces, and perform analysis within an Integrated Product Team (IPT)
- Drive development of new program requirements
- Refine existing program requirements
- Influence pursuit of future technologies and capabilities
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines and technology areas
- Integrate and communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers across multiple Modernization and Sustainment efforts
- Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning, and manage interface definition efforts
- Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports
- Support interface and communication with program, functional, and subsystem leads
- Maintain Systems Engineering artifacts following configuration management procedures
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure proper verification and validation of Systems Engineering artifacts
- Solicit stakeholder and team-member input, synthesize data, and communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Systems Engineer level: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 2 years of relevant military/professional experience, OR Master's degree in a STEM field and at least some relevant military/professional/academic experience
- Principal Systems Engineer level: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military/professional experience, OR Master's degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military/professional experience, OR PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military/professional/academic experience
- Active US Government Secret or higher clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or current enrollment in Continuous Evaluation
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time
- Experience with military aircraft or weapon system design and/or operation, including requirements verification and certification
- Experience interpreting, deriving, allocating, or managing technical requirements
- Experience with DOORS
- Experience with Python or another scripting language preferred
- Experience with requirement decomposition and traceability from System to Unit/Supplier Specifications preferred
- Experience with software development preferred
- Experience with HW/SW integration testing preferred
- Experience with Agile execution preferred
- Experience managing suppliers with technical requirements and verification expectations preferred
- Experience with DOORS DXL and DOORS administration preferred
- Experience with Cameo preferred
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) preferred
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment software development for Aircraft Sustainment efforts preferred
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
