About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct research, write requirements, develop models, define interfaces, and perform analysis
  • Work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure to drive development of new program requirements
  • Refine existing program requirements and influence pursuit of future technologies and capabilities
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines and technology areas
  • Integrate and communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Support multiple simultaneous Modernization and Sustainment efforts
  • Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning, and manage interface definition efforts
  • Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports
  • Support communication with program, functional, and subsystem leads
  • Maintain Systems Engineering artifacts under configuration management procedures
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure verification and validation of Systems Engineering artifacts
  • Solicit stakeholder and team input, synthesize data, and communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline for Systems Engineer Level 2
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience for Principal Systems Engineer Level 3
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret or higher clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time
  • Experience with military aircraft or weapon system design and/or operation, including requirements verification and certification
  • Experience interpreting, deriving, allocating, or managing technical requirements
  • Experience with DOORS
  • Experience with Cameo preferred
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) preferred
  • Experience with Python or another scripting language preferred
  • Experience with requirement decomposition and traceability from System to Unit/Supplier Specifications preferred
  • Experience with software development preferred
  • Experience with HW/SW integration testing preferred
  • Experience with Agile execution preferred
  • Experience managing suppliers with technical requirements and verification expectations preferred
  • Experience with DOORS DXL and DOORS administration preferred
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment software development for Aircraft Sustainment efforts preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
