About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Keep hardware systems, associated operating systems, and connectivity capabilities fully operational and integrated into the IT environment
- Monitor, analyze, and plan upgrades to ensure adequate capacity and availability
- Provide technical leadership and support for computing systems and systems integration
- Conduct, analyze, recommend, and present performance and capacity analyses
- Maintain broad working knowledge of server and distributed systems
- Diagnose problems and coordinate solutions with vendors and manufacturers
- Respond promptly to customer needs and manage issues through closure
- Support application teams with project and support activities
- Communicate with customers, project teams, and IS team members
- Determine strategies for system-to-network connectivity and interfacing
- Review technology projects, analyze business requirements, recommend system changes, write technical specifications, and implement changes
- Identify and implement technology best-practice standards
- Develop project plans, scopes, effort projections, schedules, and final plans with project managers
- Establish and enforce local-area-network standards, policies, and procedures
- Participate in technology planning
- Integrate vendor, manufacturer, and technical expertise into the organization
- Mentor and act as a resource for immediate and application teams
- Promote collaborative IS team efforts and adapt to changing priorities
- Contribute to the IS Knowledge Repository
- Provide required on-call support
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in core discipline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in core discipline in the healthcare industry preferred
- Providing on-call support is required
- Successful completion of a criminal-history background check if hired
- Authorization and disclosure form for the background check
